Towns

Little gems

Within a short drive, cycle or stroll of Aberlady, you’ll find an array of pretty towns and villages to capture your imagination. Grab coffee in one of the area’s inviting independent cafés, delve into the history of the local area with a museum visit or stop by a stately home.

North Berwick

North Berwick is the quintessential seaside town, with views of Bass Rock and the Scottish Seabird Centre vying for your attention. If you’re hoping to indulge in a little retail therapy, you’ll delight in the many browsable shops and quirky boutiques.

Gullane

Best known as a golf resort, Gullane is well worth a visit – even if it’s just to admire the beauty of its buildings and beach. It’s also handy for Myreton Motor Museum and the Museum of Flight – transport enthusiasts, take note!

Dunbar

In Dunbar, you can visit Belhaven, the oldest working brewery in Scotland, or admire the dramatic Victoria Harbour with views over to the East Neuk of Fife on a clear day.

If you prefer to explore on foot, follow the John Muir Way, which links many of the area’s key towns and sights, including Tantallon Castle!
