About The Leddie
What is The Leddie?
The Leddie is a 27-bedroom boutique hotel in Aberlady, East Lothian.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3pm, and we kindly ask you to vacate your room at 11am on the day of your departure.
What are the opening hours for food and drink?
We're open to non-residents for breakfast from 9am until 11.30am. Lunch is served from noon, and food is served all day with the last seating at 9pm. Our menus can be found in the Eat & Drink section of our website.
What is The Leddie's cancellation policy?
For rooms booked on a reserve rate, cancellations made within 48 hours prior to arrival are non-refundable. For dining reservations, we ask for 24 hours' notice where possible.
Getting Here
How do I get to The Leddie?
Our closest train station is just a 6 minutes' drive (over 3 miles) away in Longniddry. If you plan to drive, set your sat nav to EH32 0RE.
Is there parking available at The Leddie?
Parking is available in our car park, but spaces are limited, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional on-street parking is available at the front of the hotel.
Are there EV charging points available?
There are type 2 charging points a very short drive (around a two-minute drive and a ten-minute walk) from the hotel. These can be found at 16 Rig Street, EH32 0RW.
What's the nearest public transport?
There's a bus stop just outside the hotel and the closest train station is a 6 minutes' drive away.
Is there a transfer service available to/from the airport?
We work with many reliable local taxi companies, and will happily arrange transfers for you.
At The Leddie
Is The Leddie accessible?
Our restaurant is located on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. While some of our bedrooms are on ground level, please note they are not fully adapted.
Is The Leddie family-friendly?
Our Cottage Suites are perfect for families. Children are welcome in our restaurant until 10pm when accompanied by an adult.
Is there a spa at The Leddie?
We don't have a spa, but our reception team will happily share local recommendations and make appointments.
What is the room service policy?
Please note that our rooms are not designed for in-room dining, but we can provide room service for drinks.
Is there complimentary Wi-Fi?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in all our bedrooms and public areas.
Meetings and Events
Although we don't have a designated meeting room, we would be happy to host a smaller group on one of our more private tables. We don't currently have an events brochure, but we'd be happy to assist you. Please email us at hello@theleddie.com with the details of your event, and our team will provide you with tailored options to meet your requirements.
Is there laundry service at The Leddie?
Yes. A laundry bag and price list can be found in your room.
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are available to buy from our reception team.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept cash and credit or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).
Accommodation
What room types can be made into twin accommodation?
Several of our Deluxe bedrooms, as well as one of our Junior Suites, and both Cottage Suites can be made into twin accommodation. It is always best to speak to our reception team directly to confirm availability.
What's different between the different room types?
Our bedrooms are all finished to the same standard, and include the same amenities. The difference between the room types is the size. These range from our smallest Cosy rooms, which feature a double bed, to our Comfort, Deluxe, Junior Suites and Cottage Suites. Some rooms can be offered on a twin basis also. Our reception team can help to advise on any specific requirements you may have.
Eat & Drink
Is there a dress code at The Leddie?
There's no dress code at The Leddie. Some of our guests do like to dress up for dinner, but please feel free to dress comfortably.
Does The Leddie have outdoor dining spaces?
We do! As well as our front terrace tables, we have a lovely south-facing back garden.
Can we accommodate dietary requirements?
Our Head Chef Shaun will cater for all dietary requirements, and our Front of House team will always be happy to help with recommendations from our menu.
Service charge
An optional 10% service charge is applied to restaurant bills, which goes directly to our entire team.
Our Four-Legged Friends
Is The Leddie dog-friendly?
We have five dog-friendly bedrooms, and dog-friendly areas for dining. Please let our reception team know if you plan to bring your pooch along, so we can allocate a dog-friendly room or a dog-friendly area of the restaurant.
Do you charge a fee for dogs to stay?
There is a £30 dog charge that covers the duration of your stay. We will provide a dog bed, dog towel and water bowl – and of course, some treats!!
Golf
Is there golf storage at the hotel?
We have ample secure golf storage and you are welcome to store your clubs here for the duration of your stay.
Can you arrange tee times?
Of course, we will be happy to book tee times for you. Please note these will be subject to availability.
Do you offer a golf shipping service?
Yes, we use a company called Ship Sticks. Our reception team will be happy to arrange this for you.
Things To Do (Other Than Golf)
What are the best things to do around The Leddie?
For nature lovers, we're surrounded by beautiful coastline, which is popular for long walks, wild swimming and windsurfing!
Aberlady Nature Reserve is a short walk away, and we are also located on 'The John Muir Way', a famous walking trail.
The popular museum of flight is a short drive away, and for whisky lovers, we would recommend a trip to the nearby distillery Glenkinchie.
Most of our team are local to the area, and will happily help with recommendations during your visit.
